Mr. Abhijit Kishore

Abhijit is the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), India’s leading telecom service provider. He has had an illustrious career in telecom spanning over three decades across various organizations and geographies. Abhijit brings deep continuity and strategic vision to the role, having been part the VIL family for over 10 years in multiple senior operational and leadership roles.

Before taking over as CEO, Abhijit served as the Chief Operating Officer of VIL for four years overseeing all the circle operation. He led from the front, spending time with employees, customers and partners across the country creating significant impact on overall business, customer experience and organization’s culture. He has spearheaded the company’s P&L, managing Sales and Operations, Retail & Distribution, Customer Service Delivery and other critical business functions for the organization.

Earlier, as the Chief Enterprise Business Officer, he headed VIL’s enterprise business, where he drove the business transformation from a Telco to a Techco. Under his leadership, Vi Business introduced pioneering solutions such as Integrated IoT, Managed Services and Security as a service to support businesses in the digital era.

Previously, he served as the Circle Business Head for Gujarat and Kerala circle where he successfully launched the first 4G in India by erstwhile Vodafone.

Before joining VIL, Abhijit held multiple leadership roles in Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel. In his multi decade journey, he has built businesses, markets and teams – energizing people, brining sharp acumen to win in a highly competitive industry

He is the current Chairperson of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and India Mobile Congress (IMC).

Abhijit is an alumnus of Delhi University and FORE School of Management, Delhi and has attended Senior Leadership Programs at IIM Ahmedabad and London Business School.
